Welcome and kit overview

Let's start with an overview of the process to sculpt and paint your pieces, the materials in your kit, and how to set up your workspace.

PART 1: SCULPT YOUR POTTERY FROM AIR-DRY CLAY

Step 1: Sculpt the penguin body

Step 2: Add the feet

Step 3: Add the flippers

Step 4: Add the beak

Step 5: Smooth the surface of the penguin

Now repeat steps 1-5 above to make your second penguin!

PART 2: LET YOUR POTTERY DRY

Step 6: You've sculpted both of your penguins now, so next let them air-dry for at least 2 days

Once your pieces are dry, we'll paint them!

Step 7: Quickly confirm that your pieces are completely dry

PART 3: PAINT YOUR POTTERY

Step 8: Paint the first white coat

Step 9: Paint the second white coat

Step 10: Paint the flippers, sides and backs black

Step 11: Paint the tops, bottoms and eyes black

Step 12 - Paint the beak and feet orange

[OPTIONAL] Paint red scarf and sweater

[OPTIONAL] Step 13: Paint the first red coat for the scarf and sweater

[OPTIONAL] Step 14: Paint the second red coat for the scarf and sweater

Seal and finish both penguins

Step 15: Paint the mod podge sealer and finish on the front, sides and back of both pieces

Step 16: This is the final step! Paint the mod podge sealer and finish on the tops and bottoms
